Voter Guides:
Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear. Thomas Jefferson "God is not threatened in the least by questioning, in fact He encourages it. Seek and you will find..." Gary 2010
HERE IS THE LETTER THAT WENT OUT IN 2006 THAT SCARED MANY PASTORS AND RABBI'S. It shows the origional letter and then crosses out everything that is not true in the letter. Here
Do Christians have a resposibility to vote? Read here and here.
Dear God Fearing Voter:
“…Endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights…” from our Declaration of Independence and “We the people…” from the preamble of our Constitution is the basis for power in the United States. Rm 13:1 says, “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.” In America the authority is “We the People” not a king or president. We the people have been established by God and are responsible to be involved and pray for wisdom as we select our leaders. On average Christians are 15% to 25% of the vote, 35% to 45% are not registered to vote, and 75% to 80% will not vote (www.electionforum.org). We are dishonoring God when we do not vote.
Many churches and synagogues have been intimidated by fear that our government will revoke their tax status if they speak out on such issues. This kind of fear kept people from speaking out at major time in our recent history when people did not speak out when eugenics, abortion, and a state taking an ever increasing roll in people’s lives was happening. And yes this example has been way overused by so many people it has lost much of its meaning. But this is a significant relevant event which did happen when the church at large in Germany refused to speak out first against killing insane people, then killing people with major health issues, then eventually the Jews, and finally many true Christians that opposed the evil that had been let out of the box. Will we too remain silent? Will we wait until it is too late? Or will we protect the widow, the orphan, the poor, the person deceived by society into killing their unborn child, and our future children.
“God cannot sustain this free and blessed country which we love and pray for unless the church will take right ground…politics are a part of religion in such a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to the country as a part of their duty to God.” Charles Finney (1792–1875)
We are in a Spiritual Battle for the soul of our country. - As Christians and Jews, it is also a battle for the poor. Let me start by telling you why our current spending hurts the poor more than the rich. For the Federal Government to spend money they do not have (Cap and Trade, Government Medicine) they can print it, or borrow it either of these will cause inflation in the near future. Inflation steals from the poor and gives to the rich. Why? Because if you are poor you probably rent, the rich person owns property and if we have 10% inflation then people that own property see it go up at least 10%. So if they own a $1 Million dollar house their wealth increases by $100,000. The poor person’s rent goes up by 10% and if they pay $1000 rent it goes up to $1100 thus they are poorer by $1,200 a year. The government can also raise taxes to get money and this will slow down the economy which also hurts the poor more than the rich. The current monetary policies that are being pursued will ultimately hurt the poor.
The poor will get less healthcare then they do today with the current Healthcare Bill, they will get less than the middleclass and the rich. – Why? Because when the government puts an artificial price cap on a thing you get less of that thing. The government only knows how to put a cap on prices not make things more efficient. We already have a shortage of doctors; this bill will mean that we will have even fewer doctors because they will not invest the $250,000 it takes to become a doctor with the Government controlling their future. They will instead do something else with their talent. The wealthy can always pay somebody somewhere to get the best medical care in the world. This bill is not really about helping the poor it is all about establishing socialism in America. With the result like Canada, quoting Dr. Anne Doig, President of the Canadian Medical Association, “We all agree that the system is imploding”. (Link to article)
